This is not okay – Relationship style.

Hey M’lovelies

So today I felt the need to rant about what seems to be becoming ‘the norm’ in today’s society because it is starting to get out of hand.

People are starting to think that possessive bevaiour of your partner is okay. It’s not. The worst thing is, people think it’s completely normal.

It seems to be acceptable in today’s society to stop your partner being friends with somebody because you consider them to be a threat. If you feel the need to do that then you don’t have enough trust in them. You can say you do but that doesn’t make it true. If you trusted them enough, it wouldn’t matter that you were weary of the other person because you’d trust your partner to push them away.

Checking their messages to see if they’re talking to other people is not okay. That’s a violation of their privacy and if you are doing that … You need to stop. You have no right to be doing that and it’s incredibly controlling behaviour, boardering abuse.

There is nothing wrong with your partner not replying to you straight away. They are allowed to be busy and have a life outside of you and that sometimes means not talking for a few hours. There is no point getting angry when they take their time because at the end of the day, they will reply when they see it.

Let your partner go out with the guys or play that playstation game. They are doing no harm. Hell, I love seeing my boyfriend on the playstation because he is having a good time.

If you have an issue with your partner then talk to them because those passive aggressive comments are going to get you nowhere.

Trust your partner. Be open with your partner and you’ll see things become so much better. Healthier.

Anyways, sorry it’s a very ranty post but I felt it was needed. I hope you guys have enjoyed. Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Let’s talk concealer

Hey M’lovelies

Today I am wanted tackle the topic of concealer because I know it’s been the biggest pain in my ass since I started make up. I’m going to cover as much as I can on this post so it may be a long one. So, grab a coffee and relax.

I’m going to start by telling you that I have very dry undereyes and so the concealers and powers that I recommend will be catered towards those who have dry skin.

The first thing I notcited improved my concealer application was not putting it right into the corner of my eye but a bit below the eye and blending up. I initially thought this would reduce the coverage but it didn’t and it meant there was less product in the corner of my eye to cake up.

To follow on with that, I want to say that the worst thing you can do is over apply. One swipe of the applicator is all you need to start then you can add a bit more once that is blended if you fell you need it.

I always recommend blending your undereye out with a damp beauty sponge as it help to add moisture back into the skin and stops over applying. However, if you are using concealer to cover a spot then I recommend using a densely packed brush to really focus the coverage in one area then go over with a sponge to smooth it out.

Finding the right concealer shade is paramount and that Includes for highlighting. I love when my undereyes look bright and awake but I have seen some people wearing a shade 3 shades too light which is not a good look as its way too bright. You only need to go a shade (2 max!) lighter than your skin tone to get the highlighted affect. For spots, make sure concealer matches your skin because you don’t want to draw attention to them.

Shade is important but so is formula. I need a very hydrating formula which is why I use ‘Maybelline fit me’. It’s no use me using something like the collection 200 under my eyes because it is just too drying for me but it could work for those with oily skin. A dry formula for my eyes is just a recipe for cakeiness and not the good kind.

Finally, it’s time to talk about setting the concealer. Baking needs to stop, all it does is suck the moisture from your skin and leaves you looking 10 years older when you’ve got dry skin. To set my eyes I take my ‘RMCA no colour powder’ and place a small amount on the damp beauty blender and pressing it under my eyes. I sometimes take a small fluffy brush and lightly dust it over the undereye.

I hope you guys have enjoy and found this post useful. Please let me know if you have any concealer tips in the comments below.

Are there really any benefits to make-up?

Hey M’lovelies,

Today I wanted to discuss wether or not make-up truly has any benefits for us.

Anybody who knows me knows that I love my make-up and if you know me really well … Then you know why. I do wear a full face almost everyday but I always keep it quite simple and don’t go very dramatic.

I personally wear make-up because it helps me to feel more confident about what I see in the mirror. I love that it can help me feel more like myself and ready to face the day.

However, for the longest of time I noticed my self confidence drop to an all time low because I wished I could look like do with it, without it. My make up kept getting heavier and heavier until I no longer recognised myself when it was on. I decided it was time to cut down on what I was wearing bit by bit and my confidence slowly grew back.

“Less is more” is something that I do truly believe and think wearing make-up that enhances your natural beauty can actually improve your confidence without it. You’ll eventually see that you don’t look as drastically different without it and you will learn to appreciate your natural self.

I do however think that it can almost become an addiction if you are not careful. It is very very easy to become dependent on it because we all love to feel like we look amazing. Just remember that make-up is hella expensive these days.

I asked my friend Sarah what she thought of make-up and she said ‘make up is a way of expressing yourself. In my opinion, I enjoy applying makeup whether it’s minimal or a full coverage. It allows me to be who I am. If you were to ask me that question two years ago, I would’ve completely disagreed with that statement mainly due to the fact that I wasn’t sure what make up was applied where or the fact that it was covering the natural beauty. However, I’ve learnt now that it’s a way to express yourself and adds on to the beauty that someone already has.’

To conclude, I think there are many benefits to make-up including the fact it can help bring your confidence. Your wallet won’t thank you for it and your skin may get the odd spot because of it but if you feel it works for you then rock the confidence it brings you.

I hope you guys have enjoy this post. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Lets Talk About Mental Health.

Hey M’lovelies,

Today I am going to be talking to you about the subject of mental health and this may be triggering for some people so I do recommend not reading this post if you feel it could potentially cause you any upset.

I have decided to talk about this topic because I have seen nothing but people getting attacked for their mental health in the news and on my facebook which I think is just disgusting. You never know what could tip a person over the edge and so to attack them while you know they are low is despicable and I personally couldn’t think of anything crueller.

Mental health is not something that should be taken lightly as 1 in 4 people will statistically suffer from some form of mental illness or mental health issue each year. People need to be made more aware of how they could help those who may need it because I know I’d feel awful if I couldn’t help a loved one who needed me.

In the Uk and Ireland, more than 6,000 people will take their own life each which just goes to show that it can happen to anybody. If more people were made aware of mental illness and there was more access to support then I’m sure that number would decline drastically.

If your friend is struggling and they come to you then the first thing you need to do is let them know that it is going to be okay and that you are proud of them, because it would have taken a world of strength for them to pluck up the courage to talk to you about it. They’ve done the hard part and just need a hand getting through the rest.

Naturally, you are going to ask them why they’re feeling the way they do but if they respond with ‘I don’t know’ then they’re not doing it to be awkward or because they don’t want to tell you … sometimes they really don’t know. Not knowing what is wrong often causes things like depression to get worse because they don’t want to feel the way that they do, but they can’t figure out what is causing it to begin with to help fix it.

Don’t get annoyed at them for not wanting to go out all the time because they are not always going to feel up to it. Sometimes they are going to want to shut themselves away from everyone because they may feel like a burden and like they’ll bring everybody down, but they’re going to need you there when they do feel up to going out.

Encourage them to seek medical help if things don’t improve but don’t push it upon them because that will just make them not want to get help at all. They will get to the point where they are ready to seek the help themselves but they are going to need you to be patient and they’re going to need you to be there for them when do.

You may find out that they are self-harming and if you are both teenagers then the best thing you can do is inform a school or parent before they become a potential danger to themselves. If you are both adults then the only thing you can do is try your best to get them to stop but if it becomes serious then you may need to seek medical intervention for them.

Finally, there are hundreds of diffrent mental illness’ such as Bipolar, OCD etc and it would be a very good idea to research whatever one your friend has because that way you’ll know what expected and will have a better idea on how to support them through it.

To everyone out there suffering, what you are going through is not your fault and you’re going to come out on top even if you don’t feel like it now. You are brave and you should be so proud of yourself for being so strong.

If you are feeling suicidal then please contact The Samaritans on 116 123. It is completely free, open 24hrs and they are there to help.

Handbag ‘Survival Kit’ All Females Need

Hey m’lovelies,

Todays post is aimed primarily at females but that doesn’t mean the guys out there can’t pick what could work for them, because there are items on there that could work for both.

I recommend getting a small make-up bag or something similar to keep it all together and it will also keep it compact so it doesn’t go everywhere in your bag. It doesn’t have to be big, just something that will slip into your handbag easily and take up very little room.

The first item in the kit is, of course, sanitary products because mother nature is so incredibly unpredictable that you never know when she is going to come and ruin your day. It’s always good to have the sanitary product of your choice in your kit as well as panty liners just incase … you don’t want to have nothing in those situations.

Pain killers are also a must have incase mother nature does come along and causes you a lot of pain but it is also good for those headaches that come out of nowhere. There is nothing worse than being in pain but not being able to do anything about it, especially when you’re not in the comfort of your own home to rest and by taking them with you, you get rid of the issue quickly.

Another item I recommend keeping in your kit is anti-perspirant because nobody wants to stink the entire day, do they? We all forget to put it on in the morning sometimes and then end up feeling like shit the entire day but by taking it with you, nobody is going to wearing nose plugs around you.

A sharp nail splint or broken nail couldn’t be more annoying and often painful which is why nail clippers are always good to have on hand. Having them in your bag means you can sort it out quickly and get on with your day as if it never happend.

Women on the pill often forget to take it in the morning (if they decide to take it then) which can royally mess up their cycle or make them unprotected from pregnancies. You get a 3 hour buffer time and by taking it with you, you prevent that from becoming an issue because you can take it on your journey or when your reach your destination.

A mirror is a great additon to your kit because eveybody likes to check that they’re presentable from time to time and top up their lipstick which is why you need one handy. Chuck some bobbles and your favourtie lipstick in with it and you have your personal maintenance sorted to keep you looking your best.

Finally, it’s a weird one … but hear me out, a pair of underwear because as previously said, mother nature is a bitch and you don’t want to be walking around feeling grimm because of it. They’re also handy if you end up sleeping over your partners or friends unexpectedly because then you’ll have a clean pair for the next day rather than a dirty pair.

I hope you guys have enjoyed and taken eveything I suggested on board beacuse it will make your life so much easier.

See you all wednesday.

10 Things You Shouldn’t Say To Short People

Hey m’lovelies,

Todays post is going to be something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while because, you guessed it!, i’m a short ass. I’m only 4ft 9.5 which means that I’ve heard all of the sayings in the book.

Us short people often make fun of our own height and I generally don’t mind people having a laugh either unless I’m called “midget’ because if you call me that, I will not be responsible for my own actions. I have complied a list of the sayings I hear all the time, almost everyday, for you to read and laugh at.

Enjoy.

1 – “Oh my God! finally someone shorter than me”

This is one I have heard a countless amount of times and it’s funny when it comes from people who are actually short but when they’re 5ft 5, I just want to slap them. Unless you’re under 5ft, It is very easy to find people shorter than you.

2 – “Are you the legal height of a dwarf?”

Nope. I do not care if google told you it’s people 4ft 10 and under because it is not only height that comes into diagnosing dwarfism. In fact, it’s quite disrespectful to say that to me and laugh when there are people out there who do genuinely have it. Dwarfism is nothing to be ashamed of and it certainly isn’t a punchline for a joke.

3 – “Hows the weather down there?”

Darling it is grand! I’m surrounded my tall people and if I strategically place myself behind them (or in front, depending on the direction) I can be protected from the wind and the rain. Enjoy being cold and wet.

4. ” You’re the perfect blowjob height”

No, this one is not made up and I’ve heard it on multiple occasions. If the dick is located on their chest or neck then sure, I’m the perfect height but I generally find that anyone who say’s this has theirs located on their head. I’m 4ft 9.5, not the height of your favourite blow up doll

5. “All good things come in small packages”

Funny, I don’t recall you saying that while making fun of your ex for having a small … package.  This one is probably the most annoying one because it’s always said in the most patronising tone possible and I don’t even think they realise they’re doing it.

6. “Do you shop in the child section?”

Yes. Yes I do. Only for jeans but I’d much rather pay £11 for a comfortable pair that are elasticated on the waist  than pay £20+ for a pair I have to do a dance to get in because they’re so stiff.

7. “Can you get on all the rides?”

Honey please, those lines are for children who are the height of an 11 year old or under. I’m at-least the height of a small 12 year old.

8. “Child Ticket?”

I am 20 years old! I haven’t needed a child ticket for the last 4 years. But I mean … I will take the cheaper one if you are offering, I am a student after all.  We need the money.

9. “Aww you’re so cute”

Cute! what am I… a pet?. No! I am not cute. Do not condescend me bitch.

10. “You can be my arm rest”

*giggles* Oh my god you’re so funny!. Now get your am off my head before I break it.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! It is just a light hearted bit of fun for us short people. Please leave me a comment letting me know which ones your receive the most or if i’ve missed any out … maybe I’ll do a part 2?.

See you Friday.
