Why I Started Writing

Hey m’lovelies,

Today I want to tell you guys a little bit about my journey and why I started writing, I realised that I haven’t really shared anything with you about my love for what I do here and I just can’t leave it that way now, can I?

As a child, English was always my favourite subject because of all the books we got to read and the stories we got to write. It allowed me to visit new worlds and create some of my own. I remember reading ‘Kensuke’s kingdom’ by Michael Morpurgo in year eight and I couldn’t put it down because I found this strange man so fascinating and I wanted to learn more about him … about his life.  It made me realise that I want to make other people feel the way that book made me feel. I wanted to give people an escape which is exactly what reading became for me because my mental health was a mess at the time but I could temporarily run away from it all with a turn of a page.

A lot of my own personal work is based around experiences in the past that lead to me not being in a great place mentally. While it is difficult for me to write about it, it gets easier once I have done so. Writing a poem or a short story based on what I went through is my way of processing what happened in a healthy way because if I don’t get it out in writing then I won’t at all and bottling up emotions isn’t good for anybody.

Poetry always worked well for me because I found it to be the most expressive way for me spill my feelings onto a page. I could write what I wanted to say but sometimes in a way that only I could understand the true meaning. People would be able to take away what they wanted from the line but only I could really know the purpose of it, which is the way I wanted it to be. I could process what I felt without making myself completely vulnerable to the judgement to anyone may who read it.

Articles allowed me to delve deeper into issues that affected me in a factual way which meant I could learn more about why I felt the way that I did and how I could improve it but it also raised awareness to the issues so that people could spot the signs.

During my second year of college my lecturer Rhodri introduced us to his blog, where he shared his own work and encouraged us to do the same because he believed it was important for us to share our work and get the discipline that comes with a blog, the discipline that all writers need. I went home and set one up that night.

Some of you may have been around for that but as you all know, I recently took that site down and completely rebranded it all together. I did this because I was not being consistent and not exactly professional either because college work and exams got in the way, but now I am on a regular writing and posting schedule.

My aim for this blog is to make people laugh and help guide them in whatever way I can, I’m here to provide entertainment and a safe space for you.

I do have a piece of advice to end this post for all my fellow writers out there and it is don’t be afraid. Tell your stories the way you want to and do not care what other people will think of them because for every person who dislikes them there will be many more that love it and somebody who is going to be helped by them, whether that was your aim or not. However, it is completely okay to keep your work private as well because what you do with what you write is your decision and you don’t have to share a thing if you choose not to.

I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and it’s told you a little bit more about me.

See you Friday for my next post.

Handbag ‘Survival Kit’ All Females Need

Hey m’lovelies,

Todays post is aimed primarily at females but that doesn’t mean the guys out there can’t pick what could work for them, because there are items on there that could work for both.

I recommend getting a small make-up bag or something similar to keep it all together and it will also keep it compact so it doesn’t go everywhere in your bag. It doesn’t have to be big, just something that will slip into your handbag easily and take up very little room.

The first item in the kit is, of course, sanitary products because mother nature is so incredibly unpredictable that you never know when she is going to come and ruin your day. It’s always good to have the sanitary product of your choice in your kit as well as panty liners just incase … you don’t want to have nothing in those situations.

Pain killers are also a must have incase mother nature does come along and causes you a lot of pain but it is also good for those headaches that come out of nowhere. There is nothing worse than being in pain but not being able to do anything about it, especially when you’re not in the comfort of your own home to rest and by taking them with you, you get rid of the issue quickly.

Another item I recommend keeping in your kit is anti-perspirant because nobody wants to stink the entire day, do they? We all forget to put it on in the morning sometimes and then end up feeling like shit the entire day but by taking it with you, nobody is going to wearing nose plugs around you.

A sharp nail splint or broken nail couldn’t be more annoying and often painful which is why nail clippers are always good to have on hand. Having them in your bag means you can sort it out quickly and get on with your day as if it never happend.

Women on the pill often forget to take it in the morning (if they decide to take it then) which can royally mess up their cycle or make them unprotected from pregnancies. You get a 3 hour buffer time and by taking it with you, you prevent that from becoming an issue because you can take it on your journey or when your reach your destination.

A mirror is a great additon to your kit because eveybody likes to check that they’re presentable from time to time and top up their lipstick which is why you need one handy. Chuck some bobbles and your favourtie lipstick in with it and you have your personal maintenance sorted to keep you looking your best.

Finally, it’s a weird one … but hear me out, a pair of underwear because as previously said, mother nature is a bitch and you don’t want to be walking around feeling grimm because of it. They’re also handy if you end up sleeping over your partners or friends unexpectedly because then you’ll have a clean pair for the next day rather than a dirty pair.

I hope you guys have enjoyed and taken eveything I suggested on board beacuse it will make your life so much easier.

See you all wednesday.

A Gift Guide For Him

Hey m’lovelies.

This post is a particularly exciting for me as it is my collab and it would like to thank the wonderful Alana ( for giving me this amazing opportunity.

This is mainly for the girls out there because lord knows that boys are a giant pain in the ass to buy for. I’ve grown up with 3 borthers and I have a boyfriend but I stll can’t seem to figure out what they want for birthday’s and christmas’. I’ve tried to keep the list quite general because I don’t want to generalise or stereotype males because I know everybody is diffrent.

now I’m going to stop rambling and get into the list.

1. Aftershave/Perfume

People enjoy being well-presented which involves smelling great and nothing makes a man smell better than their favourite aftershave/perfume. Ladies, let’s face it, buying something to make your man smell heavenly is a present for you too. I took my boyfriend to test a few recently and there was a few contenders but ‘David Beckham Homme’ is a great cheap option. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more expensive then ‘Paco Rabanne One Million’ is a fantastic choice.

2. A Shaving Starter Kit

This is aimed at the younger ones who are just starting to shave or the guys who want to keep their beard under control. Get them a good quality razor that isn’t going to harm their skin and some shaving gel that is going reduce the chance of shaving rash.

3. Clothes

This one is a no brainer. You can not go wrong with getting some clothes from their favourite brand because you can never have enough clothes but be sure to get second opions and the correct size.

4. Headphones

Everyone needs a pair of good quality headphones in their life as they can totally transform the music experience. You could also get a pair that comes doubled as a mic for when they’re playing the PlayStation or XBOX.

5. A wallet

A new wallet always goes down a treat. From one I’ve seen, black leather ones have become popular recently and so you can guarentee they’d be greatful for a good quality one.

6. Tickets

Take them to see their favourite band or team play. Going to a concert or game is a memory that will always stay with them and it is often a once in a lifetime experience.

7. A Mini-Holiday

A romantic weekend away can benefit eveyone. It’s a chance for you and your partner to get away and spend some time with just the pair of you. Every couple needs that evey now and then.

8. Gaming Accesories

Make their gaming experience even more fun by getting them some accesories to customise their systems, a headseat, a custome mouse … that sort of thing.

9. A watch

A snazzy watch is always an amazing edition to a look and as a child, my father had an extensive watch collection that he took great pride in. Every man wants something to feel proud of and take pride in which is why a watch never goes a miss.

10. Biker Gear

This one is a little bit more specific because bikes are not eveyones cup of tea but for those who love it then a new jacket or helement would be appreciated for sure and it helps to keep them save … win!

I haven’t made this list too specific because I want it to appeal to the majority of people. That way people can manipulate the list and the ideas on it to fit their loved ones preferences, everyone can find something from it.

Don’t forget to head over to Alanas post and follow her instagram.

I hope you’ve all enjoyed and found it helpful.
